- Agency-owned private transportation guarantees consistent safety and timing, better than outsourced options in competing packages.
- Blend of city walks, valley explorations, and lake trek creates a rounded adventure, more varied than focused hikes or site-only visits offered elsewhere.
- Private guided session at Machu Picchu allows personalized pacing, a feature not standard in many group plans from other providers.
- Meals use natural local organic elements, with choices for global cuisine at added expense, adding dietary range lacking in some similar itineraries.
- Constant representative oversight ensures quick responses to needs, elevating service over typical unmonitored tours.
- Train company selection for Machu Picchu travel: PeruRail emphasizes broad views through windows, Inca Rail offers intimate settings; this choice sets us apart from fixed-operator competitors.
Trip Itinerary
TRIP ITINERARY
Arrival in Cusco - Hotel Transfer
The tour begins when our team greets you at the Cusco airport. Private transportation owned by the agency takes you to the hotel. Drivers, highly skilled in local conditions, ensure a smooth ride.
At the hotel, try coca tea, a common Andean leaf infusion that helps with height-related discomfort like headaches. After settling, our staff hands over a map. It marks nearby historical areas, places to eat typical dishes, spots to change money, and stores for essentials.
Cusco’s elevation at 3,399 meters means adjusting slowly. Spend initial hours resting in the room or lounge. This prevents fatigue later. Guides suggest light walks only after a bit.

Archaeological City Tour in Cusco
The day opens with breakfast at the hotel. From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a local guide leads through Cusco’s historic center. This session, exclusive to MACHU PICCHU RESERVATIONS clients, covers colonial buildings blended with Inca bases.
In the afternoon, the archaeological tour starts. First, head to Q’enqo, an Inca site with rock carvings used for ceremonies. Guides, experienced in these trails, explain how channels might relate to water rituals in Andean beliefs.
Next, visit Sacsayhuaman, featuring large stone walls that demonstrate Inca assembly skills. The structures align with solstices, a point often discussed. Then, to Qoricancha, the sun temple with gold-plated interiors originally, now overlaid by a church.
Optionally, attend the Qosqo Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Andean performances. Arrive 45 minutes early for seats. The ticket comes with the package.

Maras and Moray Tour
Breakfast happens at the hotel. At 8:00 a.m., private transportation leaves Cusco northeast. The first visit goes to Maras village, known for colonial doorways and over 3,000 salt pools. These evaporate water from underground springs, a method tied to Andean resource use.
Guides detail how families maintain the pools generationally. This adds a cultural layer. Then, move to Moray, with circular terraces that functioned as crop testing areas. Over 250 varieties grew here, adapting to microclimates.
The design creates temperature differences between levels. A traveler once shared surprise at the engineering after climbing down. The tour ends with a return to Cusco in the afternoon.

Sacred Valley of the Incas & Aguas Calientes
Breakfast is at the hotel. The Sacred Valley tour starts in the morning. Begin at Pisac, a town with markets showing crafts and an Inca site above with terraces and storehouses.
Guides describe storage systems for grains. Next, to Awanacancha, a textile center displaying weaving with natural dyes from plants. See llamas and alpacas, key to Andean fiber production.
Lunch occurs in Urubamba, central to the valley. Then, to Ollantaytambo, an old Inca settlement with water channels still in use. Explore the massive stone platforms. Afterward, board the train to Aguas Calientes, surrounded by high vegetation.
Passengers select PeruRail for enclosed scenic rides or Inca Rail for cozier groups. The town sits in a mountain pocket.

Machu Picchu Private Guided Tour - Return to Cusco
From the hotel, transfer to the station. Private transportation ascends 30 minutes to Machu Picchu. The private guide covers Inca history, pointing out sectors like farming terraces and temples.
Explanations include how the site ties to Andean astronomy. Time after allows personal walks. Then, descend to Aguas Calientes. Catch the train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco directly.
Options: Lunch at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, near the entrance. Or Vistadome return with wide views. Buy entry to Huayna Picchu for overlooks.

Guides monitor pace for safety. At the lake, free time to observe the turquoise from glacier melt. Descent follows, then lunch. Return to Cusco for rest.
