After lunch, you will travel approximately 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, one of the most important archaeological and historical towns in the Sacred Valley. During the guided visit, you will explore the impressive terraces, stone structures, ceremonial sectors, and defensive areas of the archaeological complex. Ollantaytambo is also considered a living Inca town because many of its original streets, canals, and foundations remain in use today.
At the end of the visit, you will be transferred to the Ollantaytambo train station.
Train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu Pueblo
Your train to Machu Picchu Pueblo, also known as Aguas Calientes, will depart at approximately 3:30 PM or 4:30 PM, depending on the schedule confirmed for your reservation. The train journey takes approximately 1.5 to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Along the way, you will follow the Vilcanota River and pass through the dramatic landscapes of the Sacred Valley and Urubamba Canyon. Train times and companies are subject to availability at the time of booking.
Arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo and Hotel Check-In
Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, a hotel representative will be waiting with a sign displaying your name. They will accompany you to your accommodation and assist with check-in.
The tour generally includes one night at Andino Machu Picchu Hotel or another hotel of a similar category, depending on availability. Your room will include the basic services confirmed in your reservation, allowing you to rest before the Machu Picchu visit the following morning.
7:30 PM: Pre-Tour Briefing with Your Machu Picchu Guide

5:30 AM: Bus to Machu Picchu
At approximately 5:30 AM, you will walk to the official bus station in Machu Picchu Pueblo and board the bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The journey takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes along the winding mountain road. Your guide will accompany or meet you according to the arrangements confirmed during the pre-tour briefing.
6:00 AM: Entrance to Machu Picchu
You will enter Machu Picchu at approximately 6:00 AM, depending on the entrance time confirmed in your ticket. For early-entry reservations, you may have the opportunity to enjoy the citadel during the quieter morning hours and see the sunrise over the surrounding mountains when weather conditions are favorable.
Your route will follow the official circuit assigned at the time of booking. Access to specific viewpoints and archaeological sectors depends on the confirmed ticket.
Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Photography and Final Exploration Time
During the guided visit, you will have time to take photographs from the viewpoints and areas permitted by your circuit. Depending on current regulations and the pace of the group, you may have a short period to continue through the remaining section of the circuit after the guide’s explanation. Visitors must always follow the established one-way route and cannot return to previously visited areas. The total visit time is determined by the type of entrance ticket and the regulations established for each circuit.
Optional Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain Hike
Travelers who have reserved an additional entrance ticket may continue with a hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain. These optional entrances are not included in the standard tour price and must be requested at the time of booking. Return Bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo

Free Time in Machu Picchu Pueblo

2:30 or 3:20 PM: Train to Ollantaytambo
Your return train will depart from Machu Picchu Pueblo at approximately 2:30 PM or 3:20 PM, depending on the schedule confirmed for your booking. The train journey to Ollantaytambo takes approximately 1.5 to 1 hour and 45 minutes. During the trip, you will once again enjoy views of the Vilcanota River, the Urubamba Canyon, and the surrounding Andean landscape.
Transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cusco
Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo train station, a Machu Picchu Team representative or driver will be waiting with a sign displaying your name. You will then continue by tourist transportation to Cusco. The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Arrival in Cusco is expected at approximately 6:30 PM. The tour concludes near Plaza Regocijo, located one block from the Plaza de Armas, or at another previously confirmed drop-off point.

A non-refundable deposit of USD 180 per person is required to initiate your reservation. This deposit covers the purchase of the Machu Picchu entrance ticket and train tickets. These services are issued for a specific traveler and travel date, and are generally non-transferable, non-changeable, and non-refundable.
Your reservation is considered fully confirmed only once the required payment has been received, Machu Picchu, train, and hotel availability has been verified, and our reservations team has issued written final confirmation.
Cancellations and Refunds
The USD 180 deposit per person is non-refundable under any circumstance, as it covers the purchase of non-refundable entrance and train tickets.
If you cancel after paying the full tour price, the remaining balance may be refunded, minus the USD 180 deposit per person, services already purchased or confirmed (including the Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel), card-processing fees, bank charges, currency-conversion costs, and any other non-recoverable expenses.
Any Machu Picchu or train tickets already issued remain valid only for the original passenger and confirmed date, in accordance with the regulations of the corresponding authorities and service providers.
Date Changes
Requests to change your travel dates are subject to availability of Machu Picchu entrance tickets, train seats, hotel accommodation, guides, and transportation. Because previously issued tickets generally cannot be modified or refunded, changing your tour date requires purchasing new Machu Picchu and train tickets. As a result, a new USD 180 deposit per person will apply, and any difference in the total tour price must be covered by the traveler.
Name and Passport Information
Full names must exactly match the traveler’s passport. Please double-check all information before submitting your booking form. If you renew or replace your passport after booking, notify us immediately — updating the passport number may be possible, subject to the regulations of the train company and Machu Picchu authorities. Name changes or transferring a reservation to another person are generally not permitted.
Remaining Balance
Travelers who pay only the deposit must settle the remaining balance at least 24 hours before the tour begins. Payment can be made through our online payment platform, in person at our Cusco office, in cash (US dollars or Peruvian soles), or by debit or credit card, subject to the applicable processing fee. Failure to pay the balance within this timeframe may result in the suspension or cancellation of any services not yet issued.
Optional Upgrades
Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, Vistadome trains, hotel upgrades, and other optional services are subject to availability. Once an optional ticket or upgrade has been purchased, its cost becomes non-refundable and generally cannot be transferred to another traveler or date.
Train, Entrance, and Hotel Schedules
Train departure times, Machu Picchu entrance times, assigned circuits, and hotel check-in/check-out schedules depend on availability at the time your reservation is processed. Machu Picchu Team may adjust transportation, train schedules, or hotel arrangements as needed to align with your confirmed entrance time. Any changes will be communicated to you before the start of the tour.
