TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1:

DAY 1 : Cusco ― Capulioc ― Marampata "Choquequirao Sanctuary Lodge".

We will begin the day by picking you up from your hotel between 3:30 am to 4:00 am. Once we leave Cusco, our destination is the town of Cachora, which will take approximately 3.5 hours. Along the way, we will make a short stop of about 30 to 45 minutes for breakfast.

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Capulioc, the starting point of the trek to Marampata at “Choquequirao Sanctuary Lodge.” The trek will involve descending for approximately 2.5 hours and covering a distance of 7km until we reach the lunch point in Chiquisca. After enjoying lunch in Chiquisca and taking a short break, we will continue our walk for about 4.5 hours, covering 8km, towards Marampata. This part of the journey is known for its challenging terrain, and reaching Marampata will require determination. Finally, we will arrive at our private lodge, where a delicious dinner awaits us, and we will spend the night.

After enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast, we will embark on a trek to the magnificent Archeological Complex of Choquequirao. The trek will last approximately 2 hours, and throughout the tour, we will be guided through the Llamas sector, the Ceremonial Usno, and the Religious Zone. Choquequirao is often considered the sister of Machu Picchu due to the striking similarities between the two sites. Located 1500 meters above the Apurimac Canyon, only a third of this vast Archaeological Complex has been discovered so far, and archaeologists continue to uncover fascinating findings with each exploration.

Upon reaching Choquequirao, we will indulge in a delightful picnic lunch amidst the awe-inspiring surroundings. Following our time at Choquequirao, we will descend to Pajchayoc, where we will have the opportunity to witness the mesmerizing Pajchayoc Waterfall. After this incredible excursion, we will make our way back to Marampata, where a well-deserved dinner awaits us. Finally, we will retreat to our private lodge for a comfortable overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences.

As the sun begins to rise, around 5 am, we will start our descent towards Chikisca. Along the way, we will have a small snack to keep us energized. By 7:00 am, we will reach Chikisca, where a hearty breakfast awaits us. This will be a well-deserved break, allowing us to replenish our energy before continuing our final hike.

After breakfast, we will embark on the last leg of our journey, retracing our steps back to the starting point at Capuliyoc. This will be a bittersweet moment as we bid farewell to the captivating adventure we have experienced. Once we reach Capuliyoc, we will gather for a delightful aperitif, cherishing the memories we have made along the way.

To conclude our trek, we will be transported back to the vibrant city of Cusco in our private vehicle. It will be a time to reflect on the incredible moments and achievements of the past few days as we return to the comforts of the city.
