  • Mix of hot springs relaxation, mountain trek, and Inca visits forms a balanced trip, more diverse than pure hiking or historical focuses in comparable plans.
  • Private session at Machu Picchu enables custom timing, an advantage over standard group setups from competitors.
  • Organic local ingredients in meals, plus international choices for added fees, provide options not common in similar itineraries.
  • Ongoing representative tracking offers prompt aid, boosting support beyond typical independent travels.
  • Train operator pick for Machu Picchu segments: PeruRail stresses comfort via large panes, Inca Rail favors smaller setups for tranquility; this flexibility differentiates from locked-in choices elsewhere.

TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1:

Arrival in Cusco - Hotel Transfer

Our staff meets you at Cusco airport. Private transportation, agency-owned, carries you to the hotel. Drivers, well-versed in these areas, manage the transfer efficiently.

Sip coca tea upon settling, an Andean brew from leaves that eases elevation effects such as light nausea. Staff then supplies a map noting historical zones, eatery options with regional foods, money change points, and retail areas.

At 3,399 meters, Cusco requires initial rest. Use early hours indoors or seated. This approach aids later movement. Guides recommend avoiding heavy efforts first.

Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.

Breakfast occurs at the hotel. The Sacred Valley tour commences in the morning. Start with Pisac, featuring a market town and elevated Inca terraces for agriculture.

Guides, with substantial path experience, outline storage buildings’ roles. Proceed to Awanacancha, where demonstrations show dyeing wool with herbs. Interact with animals like vicuñas, integral to Andean textiles.

Lunch takes place in Urubamba, valley’s core. Then, to Ollantaytambo, with enduring Inca channels for water. Examine the stone platforms. Board the train afterward to Aguas Calientes, amid dense growth.

Choose PeruRail for enclosed views or Inca Rail for reduced crowds. The setting includes steep slopes.

Overnight at a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

From the hotel, move to the station. The bus climbs 30 minutes to Machu Picchu. A private guide conducts the session, covering Inca societal aspects and building secrets.

Details include how layouts reflect Andean cosmos. Post-session, time for individual paths. Descend to Aguas Calientes. Rest at the hotel ahead of tomorrow.

Options: Lunch at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, facing the entry. Buy access to Huayna Picchu for high vantage points; contact sales for details.

Overnight at a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

After breakfast and rest, depart early to the station. Train to Hidroeléctrica lasts 45 minutes. Private transportation awaits, driving 45 minutes to Cocalmayo pools.

Spend 3 hours in the clear waters, fed by natural springs. Private guide assists throughout. Move to Santa Teresa for lunch time. Return to Aguas Calientes to gather bags and pause.

Train then heads to Cusco directly. Remember swimsuits. No alcohol allowed in pools. Enjoy the soak.

Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.

Breakfast at the hotel. Between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., a local guide tours Cusco’s historic spots. This complimentary feature for MACHU PICCHU RESERVATIONS users highlights blended eras.

Afternoon begins with Qenqo, site of ritual carvings. Guides explain channels’ possible uses in ceremonies. To Sacsayhuaman, with vast blocks for the Inti Raymi event at solstice.

Continue to Puka Pukara, a checkpoint structure. Then Tambomachay, focused on water worship. End at Qoricancha, sun temple with overlaid convent.

Before city return, stop for llama and alpaca interactions, plus local goods buying. Arrive around 6:00 p.m. Drop at hotel or square. Evening free for dining or nightlife.

Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.

The outing starts early, driving South Valley to the path. Approach the Rainbow Mountain at 17,060 feet or 5,200 meters with care due to height.

The ascent lasts up to 2 hours, based on fitness. Follow prep advice. Horse rental possible, but final 15 minutes on foot; not in package.

At the peak, spend 1 hour viewing the layered colors from minerals. Guides describe formation. Return to Cusco afterward.

Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.
