• Huayna Picchu is the iconic peak behind the citadel, seen in the classic photos of Machu Picchu. It needs a separate ticket (USD 65 per person), not included in the regular Machu Picchu entrance.
• We book the time slot that best connects with your guided tour and return train. The round-trip hike takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.
• The trail has steep stone steps, narrow and exposed sections. Not recommended if you are afraid of heights.

Yes. Seeing Machu Picchu in one day gives you a 2 to 2.5-hour guided tour plus free time, enough for the main sites of your circuit. If you also want Huayna Picchu or a slower pace, choose the Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour by Train.

The Expedition or Voyager train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and back: about 1 h 30 min out and 1 h 45 min back. You can upgrade to the Vistadome for USD 45, subject to availability.

We book in this order: Route 2-A, Route 2-B, Circuit 1 and Circuit 3, depending on availability at the time of booking. Book at least 4 months ahead for the best chance of Circuit 2-A.

Yes. It is rated easy and needs no hiking: you travel by car, train and bus, and walk only inside the site. The day starts very early, so rest well the night before.

A USD 180 deposit per person confirms your booking and is non-refundable, as we use it to buy your Machu Picchu and train tickets. You can pay the balance online or at our office until 10:00 PM the day before the tour.
