Machu Picchu by Car 3 Days: A Full Day at the Citadel, Without the Train Fare

A deposit of $70 USD per person confirms your booking. We use it right away to buy your Machu Picchu ticket and book your hotel nights. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, no matter how far in advance you cancel.

If you only paid the deposit, you can pay the balance online at any time, or at our office until 10:00 PM the day before the tour. You can pay:

• At our Cusco office, by card or cash (soles or US dollars)
• Online, through our booking platform

Machu Picchu tickets are issued by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture and cannot be refunded, transferred or changed (no date or name changes). This is a government rule, not a Machu Picchu Team policy. The same applies to Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain tickets.

We buy all tickets as soon as your booking is confirmed and email them to you, so once purchased they cannot be refunded. If an optional mountain ticket is not available, we refund its full price. You can add only one mountain per day.

Cancellations must be sent in writing to our official email. The $70 USD deposit per person is non-refundable.

If you paid in full, we refund the balance after deducting the deposit, services already purchased, card fees (3.99%), bank and currency conversion charges.

Date changes depend on ticket, hotel, transport and guide availability, and require a new Machu Picchu ticket: a new $70 USD deposit per person applies, plus any price difference.

Transport is by tourist minibus between Cusco and Hidroelectrica. The walks between Hidroelectrica and Aguas Calientes are not guided: please follow the directions given by our team and be at Hidroelectrica by 2:30 PM on Day 3, as the car cannot wait for late travelers.

Please give us your personal details exactly as they appear on your passport. Errors may cause denied entry to Machu Picchu, extra costs or loss of services, without refund.

Send your passport copy and, for students, a valid university student ID (ISIC cards are not accepted) right after booking. Late documents may mean tickets are no longer available, without refund.

Machu Picchu Team may change, suspend or cancel parts of the itinerary for reasons beyond our control, such as severe weather, strikes, road closures, government restrictions or train disruptions. In these cases a refund or compensation is not guaranteed, but we will always do our best to offer a suitable alternative.

By booking, you accept that travel in the Andes involves risks such as altitude sickness, sudden weather changes and limited access to medical care. Machu Picchu Team is not liable except in cases of proven negligence or willful misconduct.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, cancellation, lost luggage and repatriation. It is best to buy it in your home country before traveling.

We expect respectful behavior toward other travelers, our staff, and the natural and cultural heritage of the route. We may remove any participant whose behavior puts the group, staff or environment at risk, without refund.

Any complaint must be made during the tour or within 3 calendar days after it ends. After that, the service is considered accepted.

These terms are governed by the laws of Peru. Any dispute will first be resolved through conciliation in Cusco. If no agreement is reached, it will go to the competent courts of Cusco, Peru.
