Highlights
- Detailed guidance from experienced local experts who handle international groups in multiple languages, setting our tours apart with in-depth knowledge of Andean routes compared to standard agency offerings.
- Private transportation fleet owned by MACHU PICCHU RESERVATIONS ensures reliable and safe travel, unlike competitors who may rely on third-party vehicles.
- Combination of biking, ATV riding, and hiking provides a diverse active experience, making this package more engaging than single-focus tours in our lineup or from other agencies.
- Inclusion of a planetarium visit adds an educational astronomy component, unique among similar 8-day itineraries that often skip cultural night activities.
- Access to natural-origin meals with local organic ingredients, plus options for international dishes at additional cost, offers flexibility not always found in rival packages.
- Representative monitoring throughout the itinerary guarantees personalized support, a service level that exceeds many group tours from other providers.
- Choice between two train companies for the Machu Picchu segment: PeruRail focuses on comfort with window views, while Inca Rail emphasizes smaller cars for a quieter ride; this selection allows customization absent in some competing tours.
Trip Itinerary
TRIP ITINERARY
Cusco – City Tour
The tour starts with a welcome and move to your hotel in Cusco. At 1:00 p.m., private transportation owned by the agency picks you up from the hotel. The guided exploration covers archaeological sites around the city. First, the group goes to Qenqo, where the name means labyrinth in Quechua due to the carved channels in the rock. Guides, with wide experience in these routes, provide detailed explanations on the site’s history.
Next, the visit shifts to Sacsayhuaman, known for its massive stone blocks that show Inca building techniques. The session highlights how these constructions fit into Andean traditions. The tour ends around 6:00 p.m. near the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. You have the evening free to walk around the area.

ATV Adventure in Maras and Moray
The day begins with an early pickup from your Cusco hotel using private transportation. The drive to the Cruzpata base takes about 1 hour. At the base, a safety briefing occurs, followed by a 10-minute practice session to handle the ATVs. Then, the 2-hour circuit starts, with pauses at different viewpoints for photos and to observe the surroundings.
During the ride, participants see local agriculture practices, such as crop fields typical to the Andes. There is an option to visit the Moray Inca site, where entrance is separate; this area served as an Inca testing ground for farming. Guides explain the circular terraces and their role in Andean geography.
After the circuit, private transportation takes the group to the Maras Salt Mines, since ATVs cannot go directly there. At the mines, views include the Vilcanota range with peaks like Chicon at 18,143 feet or 5,530 meters and Veronica at 18,642 feet or 5,682 meters, important in local culture as Apus. The return to the base and then to Cusco happens around 2:00 p.m.

The route follows near the river for photo stops, then crosses a stone path to a bridge over the Urubamba River. It continues on a long bike path with sights of mountains and fields. In Santa Ana, ancient terraces and cornfields appear. Guides discuss local crops like potatoes and corn during the ride.
The biking ends in Ollantaytambo, with an optional walk through its Inca constructions and water systems. From there, the train departs to Aguas Calientes. Passengers can choose between PeruRail, which offers enclosed cars with large windows for landscape views, or Inca Rail, which provides smaller groups for a calmer trip.
