TRIP ITINERARY
Puno Hotel Pick-Up → Uros Floating Islands → Amantani Island → Local Family Homestay
The first day of the Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour begins at approximately 7:50 AM with pick-up from selected hotels located in central Puno. From your hotel, we transfer to the port, where you will board the boat and begin your journey across the waters of Lake Titicaca.
At around 8:00 AM, the boat departs toward the famous Uros Floating Islands. After approximately 30 minutes of navigation, we arrive at the islands, where you will learn how the local Uros communities traditionally construct their floating islands, homes, and boats using totora reeds.
During the visit, your guide will explain the history, customs, and daily life of the Uros people while you enjoy the unique scenery of the lake. After the visit, we continue by boat toward Amantani Island, one of the most traditional inhabited islands on Lake Titicaca.
At approximately 1:00 PM, we arrive at Amantani, where a local host family will welcome you and accompany you to their home. This homestay experience is one of the highlights of the tour and provides an opportunity to experience local island life in a more personal and authentic way.
At around 2:00 PM, you will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by your host family using local ingredients. After lunch, there will be time to rest and become familiar with the surroundings before beginning the afternoon activity.
At approximately 4:00 PM, we begin a walk toward the island’s traditional ceremonial areas and viewpoints. From the higher sections of Amantani, you can enjoy impressive panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and the surrounding Andean landscape. Your guide will also explain the cultural importance of the island’s sacred sites and local traditions.
After the walk, we return to the family home. Dinner is served at approximately 6:00 PM, followed by time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Amantani Island.
At around 8:00 PM, travelers may participate in a traditional local gathering or cultural evening organized for visitors. This activity generally lasts about one hour and may include local music, traditional clothing, and dancing, providing an enjoyable introduction to the island’s cultural traditions.

The second day of the Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour begins at approximately 7:00 AM with breakfast at your local family homestay on Amantani Island. After breakfast, you will have a short time to prepare your belongings and say goodbye to your host family before continuing the journey across Lake Titicaca.
At around 8:00 AM, we depart by boat from Amantani Island toward Taquile Island, one of the most culturally distinctive communities on Lake Titicaca. The boat journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, offering beautiful views of the lake and surrounding Andean landscapes.
At approximately 9:30 AM, we arrive at the northern port of Taquile Island. From here, we begin a scenic walk toward the main village, following traditional pathways that cross agricultural terraces and open viewpoints overlooking Lake Titicaca.
At around 10:30 AM, we reach the main square of Taquile, where your guide will explain the island’s traditions, community organization, clothing, and textile culture. Taquile is especially well known for its handmade textiles and for preserving many customs that have been passed down through generations.
After exploring the village and learning more about local life, we enjoy a traditional lunch at approximately 11:30 AM. This is also a good opportunity to rest before beginning the return journey.
At around 12:30 PM, we leave Taquile Island by boat and begin the return trip across Lake Titicaca toward Puno.
We expect to arrive at the port of Puno at approximately 3:30 PM. From there, the service concludes with the corresponding transfer, bringing your Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour to an end after two days of island exploration, local culture, traditional communities, and unforgettable lake scenery.
