Our first stop is Plaza San Martín, one of Lima’s most important public squares, inaugurated in 1921. Here, you will appreciate its European-influenced architecture and learn about the historical importance of the square.
We will also see the historic Hotel Bolívar, one of the best-known traditional buildings in central Lima.
09:55 AM – BASÍLICA DE LA MERCED
We continue to the Basílica de La Merced, an important colonial-era church known for its impressive baroque-style façade and religious significance in Lima’s historic center.
10:05 AM – JIRÓN DE LA UNIÓN
Next, we walk along Jirón de la Unión, one of the most traditional pedestrian streets in central Lima. This historic avenue connects several important landmarks and has played a key role in the city’s commercial and social life.
10:10 AM – PLAZA MAYOR DE LIMA
We then arrive at the Plaza Mayor de Lima, the historic heart of the capital. Founded in 1535, this square is surrounded by some of the city’s most important colonial and republican buildings.

10:25 AM – CASA DE LA LITERATURA PERUANA
Our next stop is the Casa de la Literatura Peruana, located in the former Desamparados railway station.

10:35 AM – SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT & CATACOMBS
We continue to the San Francisco Convent and Catacombs, one of the most fascinating historical attractions in Lima.
