Exclusive to Machu Picchu Team travelers
Our Sky Star Domes are crystal domes made of strong, clear material that give you a 360-degree view of the landscape while you rest. Before falling asleep, you can lie down in your dome and look at the mountains, the valley and a sky full of Andean stars, warm and protected from the cold outside.
We have Sky Star Domes in two exclusive campsites on the Salkantay Trek: Quiswarniyoc, at the foot of Salkantay Mountain, and Lucmabamba, in the green valley of Santa Teresa. Both are used only by Machu Picchu Team groups, and they are included in our treks at no extra cost.
Sky Star Domes at a glance
Our first campsite is in Quiswarniyoc, at about 4,000 meters. The domes stand on a small hill at the base of Salkantay Mountain, in a privileged spot used only by travelers of Machu Picchu Team. Instead of standing outside in the cold, you can lie down inside your dome and enjoy the amazing view of the snow-capped Salkantay before you fall asleep.
Who sleeps here: travelers on the Salkantay Trek 5 Days, the Salkantay Trek 4 Days and the Salkantay Trek 2 Days with Humantay Lake.
Our campsite in Lucmabamba is the third campsite of the Salkantay Trek, an exclusive place far from everything and surrounded by coffee, avocado and pacay plantations. The domes here are larger and more comfortable, and they also give you a 360-degree view of the green landscape and the stars while you rest.
Who sleeps here: travelers on the Salkantay Trek 5 Days, 4 Days and 3 Days, the Llactapata Trek 3 Days and the Inca Jungle Trail in 4 days and 3 days.
