TRIP ITINERARY
AREQUIPA: TRAVEL TO CHIVAY AND THE COLCA CANYON'S CONDOR'S CROSS VIEWPOINT
🕒 02:45-03:30 AM: Departure from Arequipa, starting a 3-hour journey towards Chivay, the capital of the Colca Canyon, located to the northwest, behind the snow-covered Chachani Mountain 🏔️. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the majestic Andean mountains 🌄.
🍽️ Arrival in Chivay: Breakfast in Chivay.
🚗 After 1 more hour of travel, we continue towards the Cross of the Condor viewpoint, making stops at a couple of natural viewpoints to admire the valley views 🌿.
🦅 Cross of the Condor: From this viewpoint, you’ll see the depth of the canyon and observe the majestic flight of the Andean Condors for approximately 1 hour.
🏘️ On the return journey, we pass through beautiful typical towns, like Yanque and Maca (where we will stop). Here, you’ll see colonial churches, locals wearing traditional embroidered clothing, and pre-Inca terraces still in use with Andean crops such as corn, quinoa, and kiwicha 🌾.
♨️ Optional Activity before lunch: Visit the hot springs, with water temperatures of 35°C (95°F).
🌋 After lunch, we head back to Arequipa, making a stop at the Patapampa viewpoint, located at 4,800 m (15,748 ft). Here, you’ll have panoramic views of the volcanoes and snow-capped mountains 🌨️.
🦙 Stop at the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, where you can spot vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas, and possibly see flamingos, ibis, Andean geese, ducks, and the Andean eagle (“Kara Kara”).
⏰ Return to Arequipa: Estimated arrival at 5:30 PM.

🌄 Altitude Consideration: The tour will take you to altitudes over 4,000 meters. Some people may experience altitude sickness (“Soroqchi”). To acclimatize, we recommend spending at least 1 day in Arequipa before the tour. This step is not necessary if you’re coming from Cusco or Puno.
🎒 Small Bag Only: We recommend bringing a small bag; larger luggage can be stored at your accommodation.

Full-Day Group Tour to – We offer two pricing options: a regular price for travelers booking only this tour, and a promotional price for those who have already booked another tour with Machu Picchu Team, such as the Salkantay Trek or any other experience with us. If this applies to you, you qualify for the special promotional rate of $23 USD or 85 soles per person.

👣 Group Size: Our Rainbow Mountain tour typically operates in groups of 14 to 16 people, with a maximum of 18 participants. Each group is led by a professional bilingual guide (English and Spanish), ensuring a safe, informative, and personalized experience throughout the journey.

Step 2: Choose Your Date. Select your preferred travel date — we have daily departures available. - Step 3: Enter Your Information, Fill in your basic personal details, including name, nationality, hotel in Cusco, and WhatsApp number.
- Step 4: Secure Payment, Pay safely using any debit or credit card. A 2.9% processing fee applies for online payments.
- Step 5: Confirmation & Details, Once your payment is processed, you’ll receive an automatic confirmation email with your payment receipt and tour confirmation. A follow-up email will include detailed instructions and personalized information to prepare you for your trip.
- Booking Deadline: You can book online until 9:00 PM the day before the tour.

? Tour Terms & Conditions
Agency Cancellations: In case Machu Picchu Team must cancel the tour due to weather, political issues, or other unforeseen circumstances (either before or during the trip), we will provide a 100% refund of the tour cost.
Modifications & Rescheduling: You may reschedule your tour or switch to a similar option (Palcoyo, Humantay Lake, Sacred Valley, or 7 Lagoons) at no extra cost until 7:00 PM the day before your original tour date. To make changes, email us at info@machupicchuteam.com.
Cancellations & Refund Policy
- Full Refund: Cancel at least 24 hours before the tour to receive 100% of your payment back.
- Partial Refund (50%): Cancel within 24 hours but before 7:00 PM the day before the tour.
- No Refund: Cancellations made after 7:00 PM the day before the tour are non-refundable.
