Surely my peak time in Peru with this 5 days of trekking. But it wouldn’t be without the legend, Owen, our 25 y.o guide who has the double of its age in experience.

Just finished the Salkantay trek with the Machu Picchu Team. It was an amazing hike with a great team, Hans was a brilliant guide who was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the 5 days. The food across the whole trek was very good considering the locations and a special shoutout to the cowboys who looked after the miles who carried all of our equipment. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Great 5 days hiking the Salkantay pass with Machu Picchu team. Very professional and organised. Hans was an excellent guide who looked after us every step of the way. Would recommend to anyone looking to hike the Salkantay pass to Machu Picchu.

Had a wonderful time hiking with Hans, he was a very good & professional guide with a focus on our safety but still having a great time. It actually felt like hiking with a friend. Our chef Wilfredo & his team prepared really nice meals (also vegetarian options) and our cowboy florentino made sure our bags arrived safely at the next destination.

The 5 day sulkantay trek with Machu Picchu teams, specifically with my guides Aurelio and Elisbon, was the highlight of my trip to Peru. Everything went without a hitch. The guides were very kind, approachable, understanding, knowledgeable, and most importantly FUN! The food that the chefs prepared for us everyday went above and beyond my expectations and the services from the office and horsemen were incredible safe and reliable! The entire staff were there every step of the way. The briefing before the start of the trek was helpful; they even advise you on what to pack and give a brief breakdown of what each day will look like. It’s a lot of information so I also appreciated the quick group meetings every morning before we set out on the trail as well as every night after dinner. This was an experience like no other and I couldn’t have imagined doing it with any other company. I would rate it 10 stars if possible and would highly recommend the experience or the company more! Thank you Machu Picchu Team!!!!!!!!

I had an amazing time, It was some of the best and hardest hikes I have ever done. Vlad and Elisban were the best tour guides and always kept us entertained.

Salkantay 5d4n tour, what an amazing experience. Huge thanks to our great guide Owen, who made this trip even more special!
He is truely an local, and gave us wide information us about everything.

There is also some critic to the company and management of it;
- Group sizes are little bit too big (the space is very tight at dinner / lunch tables), same with the bus rides
- Also sometimes we weren’t sure which guide is doing the whole tour with us and the guides were changing (as there were group of 4d3n tour aswell) Luckily we had Owen with us till the end
- the company somehow managed NOT to get our machu picchu tickets (which they already confirmed 2months before the trip to us) (worst thing could happen) luckily we managed to get them from Agua Calientes with help of Owen
- the bus ride from Hidroelectrica back to Cusco was horrible (7hr trip in very tight and hot bus) just pay extra for the train

That was an amazing experience, I did the Salkantay Trek with Owen, that was really interesting, and a good experience, thanks to him.

Wir haben den Salkantrey Trek mit Owen gemacht und er war ein super Guide :)! Wir hatten super viel Spaß, trotz schlechter Wetterverhältnisse. Die erste Unterkunft könnte aber etwas besser sein, besonders die Sanitären Anlangen.
