Our guide, Juancho Escalante, was absolutely 5-star. He comes from the Highlands himself and the way he was telling us about the Inca culture and how people still today live in these regions was so insightful.
The food was also amazing. Shout out to Chef Yoel and to Walter, the horseman.

My partner and I just completed the 5D/4N Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Team and had an incredible experience from start to finish. There are many great trekking companies to choose from, but considering the value, service, and overall experience that Machu Picchu Team provides, you really don't need to look any further.
Throughout the trek, we stayed in sky domes for two nights, a beautiful triangular hut for one night, and finished in a hostel in Aguas Calientes. The first night was especially spectacular, with breathtaking views of Mt. Salkantay and the opportunity to sleep under the stars. As a couple, we had our own private room or hut each night, which was a wonderful bonus. Every accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. The zip-lining experience and the hot springs were also major highlights of the trek.
Our guide, Juancho, made the entire trip unforgettable. He was professional, knowledgeable, and always checked in on everyone throughout the hike. He taught us so much about the region, its people, and its history, which added so much depth to the experience.
The trip also would not have been possible without the rest of the incredible team. The office staff were extremely helpful with our booking and provided great information about Cusco and the Sacred Valley before we arrived. Yoel, our chef, prepared outstanding meals every day, and our horseman, Walter, was always smiling and positive, rain or shine. Everyone involved was friendly, hardworking, and genuinely cared about making the trek special. Everything was exceptionally well organized.
We would highly recommend Machu Picchu Team to anyone considering the Salkantay Trek. It was truly one of the highlights of our time in Peru.
We did the 5 day Salkantay trek and had the absolute best experience! Our tour guide Juancho Escalante was amazing, he was extremely professional and was constantly taking care of us, while explaining and being very enthousiastic about the history of the Inca’s. Besides that, the accomodations and the food prepared by the chef Yoel were insane. The horseman Walter made sure all our stuff got there in time and dry when it rained. A 10/10 experience and a memory we will never forget!

Such a great experience with our guide Juancho Escalane! He knows everything about this trek and the Incas. The food from our chef Yoel was also amazing and the horseman service from Walter to carry our bags was on point. I would definitely recommend Machu Picchu Team!!

Had an amazing experience with Machu Picchu team during the Salkantay Trek! Juancho was our tourguide and we genuinely couldn’t have wished for anyone better. Juancho really was part of the group itself and made sure everything was arranged perfectly for everyone. Horseman Walter made sure that our luggage was on time and in perfect condition in each of the campsites. Also a massive thanks to Yoel the cook. The food was beyond expectations and definitely some of the best food I had in Peru

It was perfect, our guide Juancho Escalante was 5*! A man coming from the Highlands himself was definitely the perfect guide!
The food was amazing, Yoel fed us like kings, the mango cevice was to die for
Walter, the "Horseman" was also very effectient, our bags/sleeping bags were always well kept and dry, ready to unpack as we arrived
All in all, no faults, would 1000% recommend
Just completed the 5 day Salkantay trek with Machu Picchu Team. It was beyond an incredible experience. Each day was a new adventure with countless breathtaking landscapes.
