Great experience. Food was amazing. Our guide max did an amazing job.
Totally recommend it!

Thank you to our guide Max for making our Salkantrey trek unique. Max was fantastic from day 1 and took care of the whole group, while he eagerly told the story. The accommodation was very good and even better was the food. Joel made sure we tasted Peru’s best dishes every day.
Without a doubt the best trip we have been on and we have been on a part in South America in the last many months.

I’m not a big hiker, and honestly I was a bit hesitant about whether or not I will be able to manage the intensity of this trek. Those few days weren’t easy, but were probably one of the best experiences of my life! The views were so diverse and so incredible, but it’s not all that this journey is. What made it extraordinary was the history, the culture and the stories that were shared by our amazing guides- Abel and Victor. And that’s not all- Abel and Victor always looked after us, made sure we have all we need, made us laugh and pushed us to the top (literally!). It wouldn’t have been such an unforgettable experience without them. Thank you Machu Pichu team and Able and Victor

My rating solely reflects the organisation of Machu Picchu Teams itself, otherwise I would be giving 5 stars.

Our guide, Max, was fantastic - he led us on an unforgettable trek. He was kind, knowledgable, accommodating, and always kept us safe despite some of the unpredictable challenges we met en route, like landslides. He also very clearly outlined each day and did well to accommodate the different levels of the group. I especially appreciated the ceremony we had at the top of the Salkantay Pass. He became a real friend to us all on the trip. Equally, our chefs and horsemen were brilliant. They work tirelessly transporting our duffel bags and making sure we’re well fed. The meals were spectacular, I thought. The accommodation was decent. Richard, our guide at Machu Picchu, was also excellent - peru knowledgeable and led an interesting and engaging tour of the ruins. Honestly, it was the trip of a lifetime. An adventure I’ll never forget. The trek is absolutely beautiful.

However, our overall experience was let down by the lack of organisation and responsibility from Machu Picchu teams, which is a shame. Firstly, we booked a couple of months in advance. When they were unable to secure us tickets to Machu Picchu tickets, instead of telling us right away, they told us a week before our trek which was stressful. This meant we had to rush to Aguas Calientes to buy tickets the day before with no guarantee we would get them. As such we had to book an extra night there with free cancellation just in case. On the last day they said there would be a delay in getting our bags to us because of a landslide, however, I took the bus (the same one which should have contained the bags) and they weren’t loaded. We saw them left in Hydroelectrica. Also, when taking the bus from Hydroelectica to Cusco, there wasn’t a landslide in sight. A mistake is a mistake but I didn’t appreciate the company lying to us. They did, however, organise private transport to get them delivered early the next morning which was greatly appreciated.

I completed the Salkantay trek and was one of the best experiences of my life. The guide (Amoroso) brought our group together really well and went above and beyond for our tour group at every opportunity. Even when presented with miscellaneous events happening outside his control, he managed to find a way to deal with every situation. The food was nothing but top notch, providing quality breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would highly recommend if you want to see Machu Picchu but have a real fun adventure along the way.

We did the 5 day tour and was the most enjoyable and memorable part of our Peru trip, the food was unreal, credits to Wilfredo. The hiking was incredible and the trip wouldn’t have been what it was without our amazing guide Amoroso who was so much fun, incredibly friendly and super attentive.

Had the most amazing time on the 5D/4N Salkantay trek. Our guide Amoroso was amazing, despite the weather causing landslides he did everything he could to make sure we had a good time and didn’t miss out on anything. Food was unreal much better than expected, Wilfredo and his team cooked up a storm credits to him!

Had an amazing time with the group and the agency performed perfectly in facilitating this. Our tour guide amoroso was superb, insuring we were well looked after and giving us the best possible time, he allowed us to feel like a private group and helped us through the hikes. The food team was amazing, Willfredo and his team did a fantastic job in catering, there was not a single day I didn’t enjoy the food and the variety was superb!! Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a Machu Picchu guide!!

For anyone that wants to do this wonder of the world, I hope you get him because he is class.
As well need to give a shoutout to Wilfredo and his team of chefs for giving the most unreal food cooking out of sheds for most of the 5 day hike.
