Wij hebben een paar geweldige dagen gehad met Aurelio. Hij is een fijne gids die ook veel informatie geeft over de geschiedenis van de Inca’s en veel weet over de omgeving. Aurelia is een gids waarbij je merkt dat hij ervaren is en dat geeft een goed gevoel. Hij laat iedereen in zijn waarde.
Op onze eerste nacht hebben we geslapen in een dome. Toen we deze zagen waren we erg enthousiast. Gedurende de macht merkten we dat er continu druppels condens op ons vielen en dat minder prettig.
De tweede nacht sliepen we eveneens in een dome. Deze had een echt bed, was hoger en daarbij hadden we geen last ban vallende drupppels.
Het eten tijdens onze 4 dagen 3 nachten tour was goed tot heel goed. Het afsluitende diner in Aquas Caliente was de kers op de taart.
machu picchu team komt over als een goede organisatie met fijne gidsen en eveneens aardig personeel op kantoor.

De Salkantay Trek (4-daagse) was geweldig, onze tour guide Aurelio was heel enthousiast en kon veel vertellen over de inca's. De slaapplekken en eten waren prima. Het was een geweldige ervaring en is zeker aan te raden!

Incredible tour with extremely knowledgeable guides. Despite the fact that the agency did not get us tickets to Machu Picchu, the tour itself was well arranged (food, lodging etc). In the end we did not get to see Machu Picchu, but still had a great trip.

This week I had the opportunity of doing the 5 day Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Team. It was my first multi day trek and because of them, I had the best possible experience.
To start, I have to say the quality of the tour exceeded all of my expectations. Our guide, Alexis (best known as Nachito) was the most attentive guide I ever had. He was funny, knowledgeable about the trek and Inka history and went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group felt good and had fun. He made our experience 100% better and became part of the group and a friend during the trek.
The food was incredible, homemade, authentic Peruvian food for every single meal with options for everyone. The staff was respectful and amazing, the accommodations were pretty good too, definitely better than I expected.
I couldn’t have asked for a company to go on this trek with, and I’m already hoping to come back to Peru so I can go on different tours with them.

My fiancée and I did the Salkantay Trek 5D/4N with Machu Picchu Team. The entire trek was wonderfully organised, with excellent support, good locations to stay the night and great food throughout. As well as some really great additional activities. We were very grateful to our fantastic guide Frank Omar. From the morning tea service, to the encouragement along the way, to the interesting information about Inca culture Omar really made this trek what it was. We would certainly recommend Machu Picchu Team to anyone wanting to do the Salkantay Trek!
