This was a great trip - highlights were the zip line, Salamanca hike and Machu Pichu. Our guide Owen was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He made the trip very fun and we felt safe and looked after. We were a group of three and the whole trip was just us which was also nice!

We had the best time with Owen as our guide!!! He shared lots of his knowledge with us and made the tour feel full of adventure and also very safe.

I would 100% recommend this company !! It was such an amazing experience and would rebook with the same company if I ever did it again.

The price includes 3 meals a day, accommodation, and transportation! I booked the 5 days and 4 nights trek with three other friends. If you do it with friends, you can message them to put you all in the same group and it was very easy coordinating despite paying separately. Additionally, you can't beat the price point - other companies we were looking at were significantly more despite us all doing the same trek (we would see them in the same path) and doing the same activities.

Also I went in low season (mid March) in which the crowd was about 15 people. It was a nice small group and everyone was very comfortable with each other. With this group too, everyone goes at a different pace. In which this company was ideal because there's a lot of autonomy in setting your own pace. There was always a guide in the front and the back so you never felt like you were left behind.

The food was phenomal! I felt well provided for regarding food and each meal I felt healthy and fit. The meals felt diverse enough to hit every nutrition group for the long hikes and never felt like I was lacking food wise. Most of the cases there was a cook there to prep the meals and some you were a restaurant depending on where you were. Overall the views when eating where amazing as well!

The accommodations were really nice. You sleep in this really cool thatched huts (not tents) with a sleeping bag the first two nights, then a star clear dome, and then a hostel for the last night which felt very luxurious. The accommodations overall felt clean, safe from the natural environments and spacious for everything you need.

The best thing about the trip was the guides - Max and Nestor were AMAZING. They truly made the experience and were so welcoming and funny. We all had a blast and we were so sad when we all had to part. We all truly bonded and they were great guides by sharing information (throughout the trek and at the top of macchu picchu), matching our pace, being helpful when equipment was off (ie uneven trekking poles). I can't express how grateful I am to have booked with this company (as a not experience hiker) and to have had such amazing nice guides!

Zucemo and Ronni were WONDERFUL tour guides, so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The 5 day Salkantay Trek was probably the best experience of my life so far. The food from chef Willy was also great, no shortage of great food! Thanks Machu Picchu Team for an amazing adventure!

I don’t recommend booking with this company. During my time in Cusco, I was looking for a company to do the 5-day Salkantay trek, and I ended up booking at the Machupicchu Team office located near the main square in Cusco.

On the first day of the trek it was raining heavily, and the trail was quite dangerous because of several landslides. This was something that was not explained to me at the office when I booked the tour. However, days 4 and 5 of the trek were amazing. Later, during another tour with a different company, my guide told me that there have been conflicts between companies over campsites along the Salkantay route, including reports of disputes involving guns. He also mentioned that some guides from the previous company were not paid after the split. Hearing this was very concerning to me as a traveler. From what I understand, Machupicchu Team is a new company that was previously connected to Machu Picchu Reservations, and they later separated to form this new company.

When we book a trekking company, we expect professionalism and safety. As travelers, we pay for a service with the expectation that everything is well organized and that we will complete the trek safely. For that reason, I recommend doing careful research before choosing a company.

I booked the 4 day Inca Jungle Trail.
The communication via email and whats app was slow,questions not always answered and important information ( like part of the trip being cancelled) were ommited!This gave me initail doubts about my booking.
I later understood that this was a new company formally associated with Machu Picchu Reservations.
The trip itself was wonderful and well organised and Jhon/Panda was an excellent guide. I can truly say that it was due to his dedication and care that i gave this a 5 star review.
If this new company manages to sort out their communication problems and hold on to their excellent guides, i would definitely reccomend them.

J’ai fait le trek du Salkantay avec eux en décembre. Le guide, les muletiers et le cuisinier ont fait un travail incroyable, mais le problème est l’entreprise : ils n’ont toujours pas payé leur équipeIls continuent pourtant à vendre des tours et disent même que c’est “une autre entreprise”, ce qui est faux. Ils proposent aussi de l’argent pour que les gens suppriment leurs commentaires
C’est très injuste pour les travailleurs. Réfléchissez bien avant de réserver

Me and my friends had a great time. Our guide Abel was very nice and also extremely funny. Our other guide victor was also very nice and always smiling. Would definitely do it again!

An incredible experience with Salkantay with Machu Picchu Team. Everything was perfectly organized from the beginning. Our guide was very professional, friendly, and always attentive, explaining the history and nature throughout the entire trek.
The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations during the whole trek. The team was always making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience.
The landscapes are simply breathtaking, and arriving at Machu Picchu after this adventure was unforgettable.
I highly recommend this experience. Everything was wonderful!
