5 star experience from start to finish our 5 days salkantay trek with Machu Picchu Team was incredible entirely thanks to our amazing guides (Max and gabriel) they were highly attentive to everyone is safety and comfort.

Amazing company to do the Salkantay Trek with I would strongly recommend. Juancho escalante and Jean Pierre were our guides and they were fantastic. They made the experience unforgettable and I loved every minute of it. Everything was organised so well and the evenings were so much fun!!

We did the 4 day and 3 night Salkantay Trek on the 27th of July, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. I couldn't recommend it enough, especially with Machu Picchu Teams.

Everything exceeded our expectations from the accommodation and food to the organisation and most importantly, the amazing staff. Our guide Max made the experience so special. He taught us so much about the Quechua way of life and Inca traditions at every stop along the trek, which gave us such a good appreciation for the places we were visiting. He was also so much fun to be around, always making us laugh and keeping everyone's spirits high, even during the toughest parts of the hike. His positivity, encouragement and knowledge really made the experience unforgettable.

A huge thank you as well to our chefs, especially Braulio, the head chef. We genuinely couldn't believe the quality of the food considering where we were. Every meal was so fresh and delicious and they had lots of vegetarian options too. We were given three generous meals a day which also included starters at lunch and dinner, plus snacks along the way. It was far beyond anything we expected on a trek.

What really sets this company apart is the people. Max wasn't just a guide he genuinely cared about everyone in the group and always made sure we were doing okay. He knew exactly when to encourage us on the harder climbs, when to make us laugh, and when to stop to tell us another story about the history and culture of the area. He gave us a group name and gathered us every morning to do a chant together to get us ready for the day. You can tell he loves what he does and his passion made the whole trek so much more meaningful.

The entire team was so kind and welcoming, and they made us feel looked after from start to finish. If you're thinking of doing the Salkantay Trek, I couldn't recommend Machu Picchu Teams more. It was an unforgettable experience, and we're so grateful to everyone who made it so special.

Just finished the 5 day Salkantay trail with Machu Picchu Team. What a fantastic experience, made all the better by our trail guides Jauncho and Jean-Pierre.

From start to finish they explained everything clearly giving plenty of time for questions and reassure everyone that it was all achievable. Myself and my partner were the two eldest in our party of 18 and so were often the slowest of the group but at no point were we ever left behind or made to feel we were holding people up. It is a challenge but the jaw dropping views more than make up for it. Jauncho and Jean-Pierre always arranged for someone to stay mid party and at the back to make sure we all made it. Correctly scheduled meeting points and clear instructions when and were worked like clockwork. Where we did have issues with altitude sickness the right advice was given and the small issues often resolved themselves quickly with Jean-Pierre even carrying a double load to help our daughter who was clearly struggling on the one day (what a hero).

I cannot thank the tour guides enough for what they have facilitated for us over the last five days, truly an epic trek with fascinating stories and history given along the way. Just a great team, thank you.

And to those who trekked with us, we remember you all for ever, thank you for putting up with us and welcoming us so warmly.

I have just finished the Salkantay trek (5 days) with our excellent guides Juancho Escalante and
Jean Pierre. The trek experience was amazing, the guides were ever so knowledgeable and supportive arranging alternative options when I just couldn’t trek e.g hiring horses to get me through the most challenging aspects. I can’t praise them enough, they were the glue that held the team together, nothing was too much trouble for them and they made sure it was enjoyable, informative and achievable. Thank you both for an amazing adventure.

Ik heb de 5-daagse Salkantay Trek gedaan en het was een geweldige ervaring! Een groot deel daarvan is te danken aan onze fantastische gidsen, Juancho Escalante en Jean Pierre.

Beiden waren ontzettend vriendelijk, professioneel en behulpzaam gedurende de hele trek. Ze zorgden goed voor de groep, hadden veel kennis over de omgeving en deelden interessante informatie over de natuur, cultuur en geschiedenis. Ook tijdens de zwaardere momenten stonden ze altijd klaar om ons te motiveren en te helpen.

Dankzij Juancho en Jean Pierre voelde de trek niet alleen als een prachtige wandeltocht, maar ook als een bijzondere en onvergetelijke ervaring. Ik zou deze gidsen absoluut aanbevelen aan iedereen die de Salkantay Trek gaat doen!

I had an absolutely incredible experience on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. The scenery was breathtaking from start to finish, but what really made the trip special were our guides, Juancho escalente and Jean Pierre.

They were both incredibly funny, charismatic, and knowledgeable. Every day they kept the group motivated, entertained, and engaged, while also sharing fascinating information about the history, culture, and landscapes of Peru. Their passion for what they do was obvious and made the entire trek feel much more meaningful than just a hike.

The organisation throughout the trek was excellent, the food was far better than I ever expected in such remote locations, and the support from the whole team was outstanding. No matter how challenging some sections were, Juanes and Jean Pierre always made sure everyone felt included, safe, and encouraged.

Honestly, this was one of the best experiences of my life. Reaching Machu Picchu was unforgettable, but the journey itself and the people who guided us are what I will remember most. A huge thank you to Juancho, Jean Pierre, and the entire team for creating memories that will stay with me forever. I would recommend this trek to anyone visiting Peru without hesitation.
