We did the Salkantay Trek 5d/4n. It was an amazing experience combining a challenging hike with some relaxing and partying with the group as well if you wanted.
Our tour guide Marco Antonio was fantastic. He was able to tell you lots of things about the mountains and the Incas but also about plants, animals and recent history of Peru and the Pacific War. Ask him the right question and he'll tell you an interesting story for sure.
Outside of his knowledge, he is also very funny and wise and was able to take us through a lot of Quechuan traditions and rituals in the mountains. He really elevated the experience and made this trek unforgettable for us. I cannot recommend Marco Antonio enough!
The rest of the supporting staff was also great. The bags always arrived at the next location on time and food was way more amazing than we could have expected. Our assistant tour guide Erwin was also amazing. Very funny and always in for a joke.
I would definitely recommend the Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Team if you're not only looking for a hike through the mountains, but also a way to get to know some new people and also yourself.

You could tell he was passionate about the trek and the history behind everything, he answered all our (sometimes stupid) questions. The accomodations we had were above our expectations! Just finished the Salkantay trek (5 days, 4 nights) with the Machu Picchu team. Me and my partner absolutely loved the experience! I was impressed with our guide Marco Antonio who was knowledgeable, charismatic, and encouraging throughout both the more challenging and relaxing parts of the week. He supported us with any issues that we had, and was integral to the positive experience, balancing the role of being a leader and friend. The assistant guide Erwin and the hardworking team of chefs and horsemen that transported our duffel bags from each location were also lovely and extremely helpful. Every day we got 3 great meals with multiple courses and were also able to try some great Peruvian food thanks to them! The camping areas were beautiful, and each day was different and exciting, all for a great price. We really enjoyed the challenge of the demanding route and were supported every step of the way by Marco and the other participants in our group. We met some amazing people and have made friends from around the world that we hope to keep in touch. Truly recommend this trek if you want to feel alive!!!
Amazing trekking experience! I went with Marco Antonio on the 5 days, 4 nights Salkantay trek and it was more than I hoped for. Marco was an amazing story teller, he took the time to teach us about the environment, culture, Inca philosophy, wild life, history and more. We did not only hike to sights, but took moments to connect with the mountain. Each day was rewarded with breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets that were surprisingly luxurious for the remote locations that we visited. All this while chatting and laughing with a fun, young group of travelers and tour guide made for a 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend!
We did the 5 days Salkantay track with Marco Antonio. It was really great en mostly because of Marco and the beautiful views. Marco told us a lot of infomation about all kind of things and had a good positive vibe. The route was stunning and I would definitely recommend it!

We had a fantastic time on the 5 day / 4 night Salkantay trek! Our tour guides were Stephen and Gabriel and they were both excellent and very knowledgeable! The trek is very well organised and there are so many fun activities included. The food is excellent too. Would recommend to anyone wanting to do the Salkantay trek!!

Un grand merci à notre guide Omar qui a largement contribué à rendre ce trek si génial. Il nous a donné plein d’explications intéressantes tout au long du trek et a toujours répondu à nos questions avec le sourire et beaucoup de gentillesse. Nous avons vraiment apprécié de l’avoir comme guide pendant ces 4 jours !
Nous avons seulement rencontré un souci avec le logement lors de notre dernière nuit à Aguas Calientes, mais l’équipe a su être compréhensive et la situation s’est finalement arrangée.
Je recommande vivement Machu Picchu Team et surtout Omar pour cette belle expérience !
