I did the 5 day Salkantay trek and really had the best experience. Had the best company and really mostly thanks to our tour guide Marco Antonio I always felt safe and really good taken care of. Mostly I was surprised by how much extra information Marco provided for us about the history of the places and the local life, which made my trip even more special and amazing. Will never forget those days, thanks a lot!
Had the most amazing time with Machu Pichu Team doing the Salkantay trek! The team were fun, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The group was great and the additional activities provided were great fun! The food was so good (and they were able to cater for special dietary requirements). Genuinely an experience I’ll cherish forever!

Pretty disappointed.
First of all you pay a reservation fee which is 50% of the total price. If you can’t join a trip because you’re sick or any other reason even if weeks in advance they will not refund you. Very customer unfriendly policy. The tour for the salkantay trek is 300$. If you did it solo it’s roundabout 150$ and it’s actually very doable. Also because they put you in the cheapest accommodations you need to bring a sleeping bag or pay 15$ to rent one. If you book the hostels on the trek independently you don’t need a sleeping bag because there are enough blankets. So all in all I feel these tours are a rip off and especially the cancellation policy is very unfair. Please keep that in mind when thinking of booking.
