We did the 5-day Salkantay Trek and it was an amazing experience! Edgar was a very professional guide, with lots of humor, enthusiasm, and knowledge. Everything was very well organized, from the trek itself to the accommodation, activities, and food. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this experience!
Did the 4 day Salkantay trek. Quancho, Angel and Joel were excellent and ran a great operation. Very knowledgeable and safe. Highly recommend doing this trek with machu picchu team.

Nacho was the best tour guide i could have possibly asked for! he was super accommodating, inspiring, kind, funny and we just had the best trip all together! He helped me get to the top of the salkantay pass when i was struggling and I would not have been able to make it without his support! We made so many friends throughout this trip and i would highly recommend everyone to book this trek! it was honestly the most incredible 4 days of my life !!
My fat American butt signed up for a 5 day Salkantay trek tour and fortunately I was paired up with a group of young Marathon runners who don't know the peace of taking your time. They were incredibly pacient and lovely with waiting for me though.
Our Guide Nacho kept the energy up the entire time. This dude is a machine, pure outsoorsman, and has a true love for Incan tradition and Peruvian culture. We got real lucky getting paired with him. Nacho checked on me constantly and would run up the front and guide the group. He spread ancient stories and his sense of humor kept the vibes great when it was dumping rain. Food was good and accommodation was solid.
The Salkantay Trek with Nachito was the best. He was patient with the group, made sure everyone felt included and overall was such an amazing guide. He was very accommodating and went above and beyond for everyone. He was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the geography, history, and cultures of the Inca and ancient peoples of the land. More than ever, Nacho was so fun to be with - especially for more than 4 days!
Wir hatten eine wirklich fantastische Erfahrung mit dem Machu Picchu Team beim Salkantay Trek! Von Anfang bis Ende war alles super organisiert, und wir hätten uns die Tour nicht besser vorstellen können.
Unser Guide Alexis war unglaublich nett, lustig und hilfsbereit. Während des gesamten Treks hat er uns viel über die Geschichte, Kultur und Natur erzählt und viele interessante Dinge erklärt. Sein Englisch war außerdem sehr gut, sodass die Kommunikation überhaupt kein Problem war.
Besonders beeindruckt hat uns, wie sehr sich Alexis um jeden in der Gruppe gekümmert hat. Wenn jemand weiter hinten war oder Schwierigkeiten hatte, nahm er sich die Zeit zu helfen und sorgte dafür, dass niemand zurückgelassen wurde. Gleichzeitig hat er immer für gute Stimmung gesorgt und die Gruppe mit seiner humorvollen Art motiviert.
Der Salkantay Trek selbst war wunderschön und definitiv ein Once-in-a-lifetime-Erlebnis. Die Landschaften waren unglaublich beeindruckend, und dank der guten Organisation konnten wir die Tour einfach genießen.
Wir können das Machu Picchu Team und vor allem Alexis wirklich jedem empfehlen! Wer ein echtes Once-in-a-lifetime-Erlebnis sucht, sollte den Salkantay Trek auf jeden Fall machen. Für uns war es eine unvergessliche Erfahrung, und wir würden es jederzeit wieder tun!
We had an amazing adventure doing the 5 day Salkantay trek, our guide Alexis (Nacho) was extremely knowledgable teaching us about the history of the Inkas, keeping the energy of the group positive, and supporting everyone along the way! Food and accommodations were great for us (we’re used to camping!)- we highly recommend booking with Machu Picchu Team!
