An amazing time on the 4 day salkantay trek. Our tour guide, Owen was amazing and so lovely and supportive - he definitely made the experience of the trek incredible. The food was really good and the trek was hard but worth it in the end. Would recommend to book with this amazing company!
I just completed the 4 day 3 night Salkantay trek with Machu Picchu team. It was an unforgettable experience, the hike itself was challenging but came with incredible views and an immense sense of satisfaction!
We had Owen, an amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, hugely passionate and shared many of the Inca traditions and rituals with us. He supported everyone throughout the trek and had such a positive attitude throughout - couldn’t recommend him more!
The food throughout the hike was also amazing, we sat down on the side of a random mountain in Peru and a mango ceviche was placed in front of us!
Overall a hugely challenging but hugely rewarding experience and I would recommend Machu Picchu team and particularly Owen. Also make sure you get the train option on the way back - well worth it!!
Owen was a fantastic guide during the four-day Salkantay trek. On the one hand, he always provided the necessary practical information and repeated it multiple times so that the group was perfectly informed. On the other hand, he shared a wealth of information about Inca culture, which he conveyed with incredible passion. He even demonstrated rituals to the mountain nature gods and included us in them, which was very special. Communication was also very clear in English (as well as Spanish). Furthermore, he brought the group together masterfully with his enthusiastic, yet relaxed and natural approach. For example, during the hikes, he consistently scheduled breaks at various rest stops so that the group stayed together rather than walking straight to the final destination.
The trek with the group and guide Owen was an unforgettable experience.

Samen met mijn vriendin heb ik de 5 daagse Salkantay trek gedaan! Vanaf moment één meteen ontzettend goed geholpen op het kantoor door Rakel. Enjoyable 2 day Inca trek to Machu Picchu. The trek on the first day was challenging with lots of stairs and the altitude did make it harder to catch breath. We had great weather when we arrived at the sun gate! Miguel was a great guide who made sure we were doing well along the trail and gave interesting information about Inca history.
Completed the Inca Trail 1N/2D, it was an amazing experience! Everything was well organised and our guide Miguel done a fantastic job in managing the group
