The Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Team was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organised, the food was incredible, and the scenery was beyond anything I could have imagined.
The biggest reason this trip was so memorable was our guide, Juancho Escalante. Juancho was outstanding throughout the entire trek. He was knowledgeable, professional, patient, and always made sure everyone in the group felt safe, supported, and included. He shared fascinating information about the history, culture, and mountains, while keeping the atmosphere fun and positive, even during the toughest climbs.
His passion for Peru and for what he does really shines through, and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Juancho, reaching Machu Picchu felt even more special.
I couldn’t recommend Machu Picchu Team highly enough, and if you’re lucky enough to have Juancho Escalante as your guide, you’re in for an incredible adventure. Thank you for memories I’ll never forget!

I definitely had a way better time than I thought on this trek even though I was VERY excited. Although I was pushed hard It felt very good to have such a great guide (Nacho) to support and encourage not just me but all of us to take our time and have faith he would get us through. In the end I can gladly say I would do it all again and had an amazing time with this company!

It was a life changing experience! Me and my friends did the Salkantay trail with Machu Picchu Team and I honestly don’t even know how to begin explaining…
All the structure and organization is incredible. They have a kitchen team that comes with us thorough all the trail and cooks the most delicious meals ever. The accommodations that are included are simply amazing, we got to see stars every day!! (but be aware that you are in the middle of nature, so it’s a very raw experience). They have perfect logistics to take us from one place to another and the scheduled activities are super fun.
Most importantly, huge thanks to our guide Nacho, he was impeccable! Such a fun and supportive guy, he was so patient and was always worried about our well-being. Not to mention super knowledgeable and a great storyteller, I loved learning about the Incas through our journey! Grateful for having had him as our guide 🫶
