Our experience doing the salkantay trek with Machu Picchu teams was incredible! Alexis our guide was the most knowledgeable, hospitable, friendly, and enjoyable tour guide! We also gained another great guide Jet Lee on day 2, also an amazing addition!
The food throughout was well above expectations, fresh, healthy and delicious - not to mention all of the comforting warm teas made with local ingredients. From start to finish we loved all of this tour, options to make it comfortable for every level along the way - can’t recommend enough. Thank you so much Alexis, jet lee and Machu Picchu team!!

The most amazing experience with the Machu Pichu team for the 4 day Salkantay trek!!! Our guide was Alexis/ Nacho and he was the absolute best. We had such a fun time even though some parts were tough, he always made everything fun and made us feel safe and happy!! The food was absolutely incredible and all of the team went above and beyond to look after us! Thank you Nachocito ❤️❤️

Just finished an amazing Salkantay trek with Amoroso and Victor. The trek was hard, but so rewarding. The food was delicious and the accomodations very cool and comfy (no tents!). Huge thank you to the whole team, it was a fantastic experience!

An unforgettable experience. The trip was very well run from start to finish. Food and accommodation were excellent.

Our trip was really made by our tour guide Marco Antonio. His enthusiasm helped push the entire group through a difficult few days trekking. He continually provided context for the amazing views we were seeing - whether about the history of the Inca Empire, or of traditional Peruvian beliefs.

Excellent value for this kind of tour. I would strongly recommend to anyone considering this trek.

The trek is beautiful, and our guide, Marco Antonio deserves 100 stars, his energy and knowledge made the trip. The rest of the staff were also incredibly hardworking.

Downsides. The food was terrible and insulting (even for a budget tour) and made me sick for a day, basic campsite facilities were lacking, and the final night's motel was covered in mold. The trek's pacing also can improve. In hindsight, if the option was there - I’d pay more to protect my health and get decent meals.

Had the best time!! Views, food, accommodation were all spectacular. The staff really go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience! Our guides Amoroso and Victor, as well as the chefs and porters, took care of us exceptionally well.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Inca Jungle Trail Experience!

Our Inca Jungle Trail tour was one of the highlights of our entire South America trip, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, David.

From the very first day, David was absolutely incredible. His knowledge of the local history, Inca culture, wildlife, and the surrounding landscapes was exceptional, and he brought every part of the journey to life with fascinating stories and insights. What really set him apart, though, was his passion and enthusiasm. It was obvious that he genuinely loves what he does, and that energy was infectious throughout the trip.

David went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable, safe, and included. Whether we were mountain biking, hiking through the jungle, or making our way towards Machu Picchu, he was always there with encouragement, a great sense of humour, and an amazing ability to keep the group motivated and engaged.

The organisation throughout the tour was seamless, and David handled everything professionally while still making the experience feel personal and authentic. He was always happy to answer questions, share local recommendations, and ensure that every member of the group had an unforgettable experience.

If you're considering the Inca Jungle Trail, do yourself a favour and hope you get David as your guide. He turned a fantastic adventure into a truly exceptional one. Thank you, David, for memories that will last a lifetime!

I done the salkantay trek for 5 days\ 4 nights, and it was amazing due to our guide marco antionio who is really friendly and very knowledgeable about the trek, the mountain and incas.
He also gives out clear advice during briefings about the days ahead and his english is really good.
Definitely added to the experience of the salkantay trek.

This is one of the more budget-friendly trekking companies, and in many ways you get what you pay for.

The biggest disappointment was the facilities. The first day had no showers, the second day had paid showers that were in poor condition, and several toilets along the trek were missing seats or functioning latches. These are basic things that should be better maintained.

The food was also below expectations. To be fair, it seemed more like a lack of resources from the company than a lack of effort from the chef, who appeared to be doing the best he could with what was available.

The highlight of the trip was our guide, Marco Antonio. He was knowledgeable, organized, excellent with time management, and did a great job keeping morale high among both trekkers and staff. He consistently made the best of the resources he was given.

Overall, Marco Antonio deserves 5 stars, but the company needs to improve its facilities, food quality, and overall level of service.

The Salkantay 5D/4N trek was simply an incredible experience. Marco Antonio was a brilliant tour guide making us all feel so welcome. His explanations of the history of the Incas, alongside his wonderful humour made the experience even more enjoyable. I could not recommend him or the company enough.
