I did the Salkantay 5D 4N with Steven as a guide and had such an amazing time, would 100% recommend booking through Machu Picchu Team!

We had an incredible experience during the Salkantay Trek (5D/4N). Our guide, Owen, truly took us under his wing and brought us together like one big family. He also immersed us in the local culture, which made the journey even more special.

The accommodations were rather basic, as expected, but each location offered breathtaking views. The food also exceeded all expectations, a huge thank you to the chefs!

It has been a wonderful experience to go on the tour with Carlos. He has a lot of knowledge and is very friendly; we laughed a lot, made stops for him to explain everything, and he offered us several options to spend our free time. The tour is highly recommendable. Do it and let yourself be guided by a very experienced and fun guide.

I’m usually not a big fan of organized tours, but Marco made this trek a truly enjoyable experience. He was kind, genuine, and well-organized, always providing clear information for the next days and quickly learning everyone’s names. He genuinely cared about the group! He also managed different walking paces well, so everyone could hike comfortably. He would also respect when someone wanted some time alone.
His knowledge of the local culture added real value to the experience. His English was excellent, and it was clear he loves his job and wants everyone to have a great time.

I’d definitely trek with Marco again!

Note on the organization:
It would be good if the organization took more responsibility for additional activities. For example, for the coffee tour the organization does not give money to the owners of the farm. That is the responsibility of tourists. Also good to realise tips are, of course, not part of the tour price good to keep in mind when budgetting.

I recommend this tour operator, mostly due to their excellent staff!
Our tour guide Hans took best care of us during the challenging salkantay trek and made sure everyone arrived safely despite altitude sickness. It was great to have the option to also go up with horses if needed (extra pay).
The food was amazing with many variations and vegetarian options - a huge thanks to the chef Jesus!
Just be aware of booking the right return options directly so the train tickets don’t get too expensive last minute.

Amoroso was the Best Guide! He took such good care of us. Also the food was amazing. The chef took food intolerances and special requests into account an prepared a lot of different foods.
