I did the 5 day Salkantay trek with Yuri and he was nothing short of amazing. He is very passionate about teaching his culture with us and has made the experience memorable. His high spirits really kept me together when I thought I couldn’t finish this trek.

​We just completed the 5-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu with The Machu Picchu Team, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish!

​From towering glaciers and roaring rivers to lush jungle trails, the scenery along the route was breathtaking every single day. The entire operation was top-notch, but what truly made the trek so special was the exceptional crew.

Our guide, Yuri, was incredible. He managed every detail seamlessly, took amazing care of the group, and made sure everyone had a brilliant time throughout the journey. A huge shoutout to the chef team as well—the meals they created on the trail were mind-blowing. We certainly never went hungry, and the food was delicious every step of the way!

​If you are thinking about trekking to Machu Picchu, we cannot recommend The Machu Picchu Team enough. It was a trip of a lifetime!

We did the 5 day Salkantay Trek and cannot recommend it enough. We had Max as our guide who made the whole experience more memorable and enjoyable. He shared lots of history of the area throughout the walk, always made sure people had what they needed and had lots of jokes to keep everyone going on the hills! The accommodation and food were also really good throughout. Overall would really recommend.

We had a brilliant 5D Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu with the amazing tour guide Max! He was so informative and fun, and he was very friendly the whole time. We shared lots of laughs and good times and left as brothers! The food and accommodation was good, remember to bring warm clothes for day 1 night. And remember bug spray. Nice group size and lovely people. Don’t underestimate some of the climbs they are hard, you need a decent base physical fitness.

I did the Salkantay Trek for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was honestly such an amazing experience, even though there were definitely moments when I was completely out of breath haha.
Max was our guide, and he made the whole experience even more special. He’s incredibly passionate about his culture and his community, and you can really tell how much he loves what he does. He was caring, protective, supportive, and always there whenever we needed him.
My birthday was on the third day of the trek, and Max somehow made sure I had my own birthday cake even though we were literally in the middle of the jungle. It was such a thoughtful surprise and something I’ll always remember. 🥹
A huge thank you as well to our amazing chefs, Milagros, Abelardo, and Fernando. They were the first ones awake every morning and the last ones to go to sleep, making sure we had delicious meals ready and on time every single day. Their hard work definitely didn’t go unnoticed.
And of course, thank you to the horses and the families who took care of them and carried our luggage throughout the trek. They are such an important part of the whole experience.

The Salkantay Trek was challenging, beautiful, and absolutely unforgettable. This is an experience I will always cherish. 🤍

Trip of a lifetime. Juancho Escalante and Eduardo were BEYOND incredible guides. Not only did they make me feel safe with a food allergy, light altitude sickness and on the challenging hike itself, they went above and beyond to share the history of the Incas, their communities and of the land. The trip was absolutely stunning. The tour company was very well organized and guides supported me in obtaining tickets to MP on site, got a guide for MP, and booked a bus ticket back to Cusco. Cannot recommend Juancho enough and this trip. I booked two days before in Cusco and got a great deal also! Thank you so much. -Fiona

Amazing experience! Juan is an amazing tour guide, very relaxed, and is super passionate about his job. He loves to tell stories about the trek, history and Inca’s. Everything was well-organized. Would recommend!!
