What a memorable experience! A special thank you to Edgar and Victor for being consistently positive, informative and approachable. Thank you to our chef, we were spoiled with the variety of delicious food. Thank you to the man who transported our duffle bags on his horses. Despite the challenge of the trek, the morale was high and our individual needs were met. Strongly recommend The Machu Picchu Team!!

What an experience we've had on our 5 day trek with the Salkantay Trek! Edgar was amazing from the briefing until the final moments! His organisation, logistics, compassion and kindness through each of the 15 members of the group never fell short! I took this trip on a recommendation from a friend who had previously done it - and I can only recommend you go with Machu Picchu Team for a trip that will stay with you a lifetime! The food was fantastic - the tour operators were open and honest and I am externally grateful with all the memories that will stay with me a lifetime! Thank you, EDGAR and VICTOR! If you are planning on doing the Salkantay trek or doing any exploration around Cusco or Machu Picchu Machu Picchu team is the premier company for backpackers and tourists alike!

My friends recommended Machu Picchu team to me and I have to be honest, after reading about the internal drama with the company, I was nervous about what the experience would be like. Read through the saga if you want, but here’s the truth. They are still the best company to do the Salkantay with.

Here’s why: They have the best camp sites, the cooking is amazing, the value for money is incredible, and the guides are amazing. We were lucky enough to have Nachito (Alexis) who made the entire experience fun, entertaining, and easy. He kept the vibes high and encouraged us through challenging parts of the trek. His balance of professionalism and humor helped the group build deep bonds and have fun. He also went out of his way to make people feel special like when he surprised us with birthday cakes to celebrate my girlfriend and another friend on the trip. He even guided us through our Machu Picchu circuit, which most tour agencies don’t do. Most of the other agencies make you explore on your own or tell you to hire a guide for 50-100 soles at the entrance.

The years of experience and connections this company has makes it the best option for those who want to get the most out of their experience. As cliche as it sounds, I’ll never forget this beautiful trek and incredible experience. Thank you Machu Picchu team!

We did the Salkantay 4D/3N Trip and it was a blast. The trek is amazing, a bit though but all worth it.
We traveled in a total group of 10 and had tons of fun together.
The food that had been served was amazing and the campsites were also really good.
Our Guide Carlos add so much fun to the experience and we always felt being taken care of.
10/10 would recommend

Amazing trek with an amazing guide. In adition to being an experience of a lifetime, I would say this is the best way to experience peruvian cuisine. Kudos to the chef!

If you're like most people going to Cusco, the first thing you want to do is Machu Picchu and there is no better way to do it than with the Machu Pichu team via the Salkantay Trek.

I did the 4D/3N with Max & Victor and I had the most amazing time ever. Max was our lead tour guide and was knowledgable, funny, professional, and had great camaraderie. Victor was an amazing tour guide as well. He always made sure we stayed on track with time by leading the pack during our hiking. He told me he was a marathon runner and that's exactly the person you would want by your side leading you through the Salkantay Trek.

The Machu Picchu team exceeded all expectations with their breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings and our entire group was pleasantly surprised each course. It was personally what I looked forward to the most after a long day of hiking.

If your considering doing the Salkantay Trek, I recommend doing it with Max & Victor with the Machu Picchu Team. It was the highlight of my vacation and I wish I would have done the 5D/4N !

We had an overall really nice experience with our guide Vily during our four day Salkantay trek. He is a very charismatic guide and you feel he cares deeply about everyone’s experience in the group.
The cooks and food they made for us all the time was also a huge highlight to the whole experience, much more variety than I’d expected.
There were many little nice things throughout the tour, like coca tea in the mornings, the coffee tasting, and a lot of interesting stories throughout the trekking from our guide.
One small problem for us was the miscommunication about luggage. As it turns out, on day 3 you need to leave your luggage in the afternoon for the next ~ 30 hours if you take a bus back to Cusco after Macchu Picchu on day 4, we wished we would have known this earlier on and gotten a bigger daypack for the trip.
Overall we really enjoyed the journey and were happy to have Vily as our guide, would recommend!

We did the 5 day / 4 night trek with Zugar Rey as our guide. It was the best tour we have done in the whole of our trip around South America!!! We saw amazing sights, ate delicious food (thanks to the chef Willy), and walked together across the 5 days. The accommodations exceeded expectations massively too (sky domes twice and private rooms each night!). Cannot recommend this company enough. Special shoutout too to the horseman Oscar who kindly helped transport our bags each day. Thank you!!

After booking and online payment the travel agency could not carry out the trip we had booked despite numerous telephone exchanges prior to payment. After 1 month of waiting and unnecessary messages we still have no refund. This looks very much like a scam
