​We just completed the 5-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu with The Machu Picchu Team, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish!

​From towering glaciers and roaring rivers to lush jungle trails, the scenery along the route was breathtaking every single day. The entire operation was top-notch, but what truly made the trek so special was the exceptional crew.

Our guide, Yuri, was incredible. He managed every detail seamlessly, took amazing care of the group, and made sure everyone had a brilliant time throughout the journey. A huge shoutout to the chef team as well—the meals they created on the trail were mind-blowing. We certainly never went hungry, and the food was delicious every step of the way!

​If you are thinking about trekking to Machu Picchu, we cannot recommend The Machu Picchu Team enough. It was a trip of a lifetime!

I did the 5 day Salkantay trek with Yuri and he was nothing short of amazing. He is very passionate about teaching his culture with us and has made the experience memorable. His high spirits really kept me together when I thought I couldn’t finish this trek.

Trip of a lifetime. Juancho Escalante and Eduardo were BEYOND incredible guides. Not only did they make me feel safe with a food allergy, light altitude sickness and on the challenging hike itself, they went above and beyond to share the history of the Incas, their communities and of the land. The trip was absolutely stunning. The tour company was very well organized and guides supported me in obtaining tickets to MP on site, got a guide for MP, and booked a bus ticket back to Cusco. Cannot recommend Juancho enough and this trip. I booked two days before in Cusco and got a great deal also! Thank you so much. -Fiona

We had booked the 2-day Inca Trail through the Machu Picchu team in Cusco. Since there were only two of us, as no one else had booked for that day, the experience was doubly intense for us. Our guide Miguel was super! With full interest and absolute patience, he brought us novices to the Sun Gate and gave us an unforgettable day. His information was also valuable, and despite our rather sporadic English skills, we learned a lot about the culture, history, country, and people.

I did the Salkantay Trek for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was honestly such an amazing experience, even though there were definitely moments when I was completely out of breath haha.
Max was our guide, and he made the whole experience even more special. He’s incredibly passionate about his culture and his community, and you can really tell how much he loves what he does. He was caring, protective, supportive, and always there whenever we needed him.
My birthday was on the third day of the trek, and Max somehow made sure I had my own birthday cake even though we were literally in the middle of the jungle. It was such a thoughtful surprise and something I’ll always remember. 🥹
A huge thank you as well to our amazing chefs, Milagros, Abelardo, and Fernando. They were the first ones awake every morning and the last ones to go to sleep, making sure we had delicious meals ready and on time every single day. Their hard work definitely didn’t go unnoticed.
And of course, thank you to the horses and the families who took care of them and carried our luggage throughout the trek. They are such an important part of the whole experience.

The Salkantay Trek was challenging, beautiful, and absolutely unforgettable. This is an experience I will always cherish. 🤍

The Machu Picchu team gave us a great experience of the Salkantay Trek. The food from Jesus was some of the best food we have had in Peru. JP leading the way with his amazing tunes and setting the pace and Hans looking after us all. Everyone did and amazing job, thank you very much.

I was on the 5 day Salkantay Trek with Yuri as my guide. It was such a special and memorable experience. The food was incredible and he made our time enjoyable. Unfortunately my friend could not join the trip as he was unwell, but was told he could join on day 3. Yuri checked in with me on day 3 to ask if he was joining, but sadly he wasn't. Due to lack of WiFi, I was unable to keep in contact with my friend, but Yuri kept me updated with my friends plans.
On the days I struggled, Yuri kept with me to make sure I was okay and kept me going. He took care as well over those who were experiencing altitude sickness. Amazing tour

I left for the Salkantay trek solo but never felt alone ! Hans created a real connection between all participants and all 14 of us left very nostalgical of this adventure. Hans was the funniest, Jesus the cook surprised us every lunch and Manuel the cowboy made our trek less difficult for sure !!! MUCHAS GRACIAS MUCHACHOS !

We did the 5 day trek with Juri. He was amazing! So knowledgeable and kept us safe and informed throughout the trek. He looked after us, was an amazing host and was very funny too. 10/10 recommend! 😊

We had an incredibly good time with a lovely group and an excellent tour guide! Ronn V was so funny, so efficient, so knowledgeable and I will miss him so much. I could not have asked for a better, safer guide
